Chris Nocket, board member and chief donor of POPP (Protection of Pacechester People), an organization based on protecting and informing the community of Pacechester, addressed his concerns with the organization in a community session.
Nocket threatened to remove funding from the organization if they didn’t start becoming more aggressive with their message of being against bringing the Olympics to Pacechester through multi-media marketing campaigns.
“I am less than pleased with how they [POPP] are conducting their campaign,” said Nocket. “I don’t think they really have put forth what I have envisioned, they needed to be way more aggressive.”
Nocket was a previous a board member of the Pacechester Coalition, an organization that stands against drunk driving. Nocket was caught brewing and distributing tainted beer from his home which led to his acquittal.

Nocket believes that bringing the Olympics to Pacechester would be great for businesses, however, he believes that it will be pulling money away from growth in the community such as schools, roadwork, and etcetera.
“If I wanted to benefit for a short-term, I would support the Olympics,” said Nocket. “I am more interested in seeing a sustainable, long-term growth in the community.”
POPP held a press conference immediately afterwards stating that they are working on addressing the concerns of Nocket and will be meeting with him personally in order to get a better understanding of his vision.
They agreed that with Nocket’s belief that they should work on building the foundation of Pacechester instead of bringing in the Olympics and hope to further build their relationship with the mayor’s office since her decision was to not support the Olympics.
“I feel proud of what we have done on social media,” said Maxwell Coleman, advertisement manager of POPP.
Coleman claims that they have not met with all of their donors yet because they recently moved from GreenPace and became POPP and are still in the process of meeting all their donors.
POPP recently made a list of their donors public, which can be found on their Twitter account:

POPP stated that all of the private meetings with them have been about negotiations and that any conversations about his mission and goals took place with GreenPlace, however, they are working on having a sit-down meeting and rehashing them.
